Thank you for submitting your Casting Calls!

We have had a few developments concerning the food show I am auditioning for -- some good, some bad. The past few months have been exciting; however, I have not heard back yet about the position. I'm not sure if they're still in the first phase of the casting process or if I didn't get the position.
The original idea was to have this show be a television version of our blog, Men vs. Food.  That is not going to happen, sadly. Marc moved to Florida and he has a job now, and so he wasn't interested in auditioning. Even though I wrote in my Casting Call that he would be my partner, I'm not mad at him for bailing. I understand completely his lack of interest. Fortunately for me, I have another friend who is strongly interested in being on this show, Vince. I told Vince he would be my guy if Marc wasn't interested, and I'm keeping my word. Marc and Vince are two different people, but I feel like that's not a bad thing. I feel like Vince would be a better TV star than Marc due to his more outgoing personality, but keep in mind that odds are not good that we're even called in to audition.
The next development is much better. It involves you, the fans of the blog. In my last blog entry, I wrote about how you could participate in the same Casting Call that I am participating in. I left out that every person who applies places one ticket into a raffle that could win the blog $500. They had a drawing on April 27th, and we won the $500!
See? We won. Thanks to Austin West for telling me -- I had no idea what web site the raffle was being played on.
I was told by the woman in charge of this over at Story House Productions that there were tons of Casting Calls filled out on behalf of our blog (even though I can only think of Vince and one other person from the top of my head). I would like to thank everybody who participated for their time and effort. Without you, this would not have been possible.
The email I received telling me I won.
As an added benefit of winning, I now have money to travel, so the blog is now off of hiatus. I won't likely make a new blog post until July, when I'll be visiting Washington, DC again and possibly Chicago. Stay tuned for more information on the Casting Call!

    1. Horace & Dickie's. I might also make a side trip to either Philly, Baltimore, or Richmond. Not sure yet.
